THE BRAND

Helena Thulin operates at the intersection of jewellery and product design to create refined jewels with an embellished and timeless style. Celebrating the traditions of beading and the design culture of ornaments, each piece brings forward a contemporary take on Botanic. Unique jewellery pieces are hand-made between Helena Thulin’s Parisian studio and an atelier in Portugal with a refined know-how, to create pieces with unexpected combinations of delicateness and structure, minimal and maximal, perfect and imperfect. Our aim is to develop a world of botanical species that can be cherished for years, collected between friends, appropriated and restyled to express the individuality of the wearer.

PHILOSOPHY

The uniquely modern and colorful universe of Helena Thulin mixes emotions, climate anxiety and inherent beauty with the delicacy, simplicity and complexity of the designer’s French-Scandinavian heritage. It’s thinking about Nature in a new way, attuned to ecological evolution and mixed with an optimistic pessimism. Jewels made for consideration of the handwork with crystals and beads that sparks on the body like a statement. Beaded species handmade with mastery of the old ways, bringing the intricate details of beading Art into everyday life. Jewels to treasure but above all jewels to wear and to be precious about. Species for high days, and others for every day. Jewels to share, to collect, to protect.

“For me, there is power and strength in Nature and exorcising climate anxiety through creativity. I make jewels for women and men to feel strong, unique and different. I’ve started out in Paris and London and the uniqueness and sense for details are the inspiration I bring from those cities. But always with the French/Scandinavian directness and boldness that is me. It needs to be straight to the point.”

DESIGN PRINCIPLES

Biodiversity & Nostalgia

Embracing the power and strength in nostalgia and exorcising the climate change fear by creating species that will last as a way to save an endangered Nature. Creating jewels as a statement, using unique bead techniques and materials that are distinctly Helena Thulin. Mixing emotions, nostalgia and inherent beauty of the unpredictable Nature evolution with boldness and simplicity. Individuality, posture, and emotion bring the silhouettes to life, each person with a unique way of wearing the jewels : in stalk or minimalist.

Shape

Crafting instantly recognizable jewels. Sculptural flower shapes act as a character for one-of-a-kind stories to come to life. Expanding upon signatures shapes, floral, bushy, bows and biological references, it brings a unique design perspective to each collection.

Wearability

Made to be worn, lived with and loved and to be precious about. Jewels created with passion, to be worn throughout all moments of life, inviting couture details into the everyday. Lifelong pieces created with unique know-how to be cherished and collected, never discarded. Inherently timeless species, to be worn, shared and ultimately, saved.
